حول Livepeer (LPT/USD)
Livepeer تأسس in 2017 and launched its الشبكة الرئيسية in 2018 as a decentralized alternative to video processing services like AWS Elemental Media Services and Cloudflare Stream. Video transcoding converts a raw video stream into multiple formats and resolutions for different devices and connection speeds. Livepeer's network consists of orchestrators who coordinate transcoding jobs and transcoders who perform the actual GPU computation. LPT token holders stake to orchestrators, earning a share of the ETH fees paid by video developers. The protocol has been adopted by applications in live streaming, video NFT platforms, and decentralized social media. Livepeer migrated its coordination to Arbitrum to reduce gas costs. LPT/USD on StoicFX is a CFD, no LPT tokens are purchased or held on your behalf.

الأسئلة الشائعة
ما هو video transcoding and why does it need to be decentralized؟
Video transcoding converts a raw video file into multiple output formats optimized for different devices, screen sizes, وinternet speeds. A streaming platform must transcode every uploaded or live video to serve it across mobile, desktop, وsmart TV clients. Centralized cloud transcoding costs significant amounts per hour of video processed. Livepeer routes these jobs to a network of GPU operators who compete on price, offering developers cost savings while providing GPU operators with additional revenue من idle hardware.
كيف LPT staking work and what do stakers earn?
LPT holders delegate their stake to orchestrators, والذي are nodes that coordinate وperform transcoding jobs. Orchestrators earn ETH fees من video developers وshare a portion with their delegators based on the reward cut rate they set. Orchestrators also receive LPT inflation rewards. Delegators earn a share of both ETH fees وLPT emissions, مما يجعل staking a dual-currency yield activity. However, LPT's significant inflation rate means unstaked LPT is diluted over time.
Why did Livepeer migrate to Arbitrum؟
Livepeer's coordination layer involves frequent on-chain transactions for job assignment, fee settlement, وstaking operations. On Ethereum mainnet, gas costs made many of these transactions economically impractical. By migrating protocol coordination to Arbitrum One, Livepeer reduced transaction costs by orders of magnitude, مما يجعل the protocol viable for small-value video transcoding payments وenabling more granular fee settlements بين developers وorchestrators.
If I trade LPT/USD on StoicFX, do I hold any LPT tokens؟
لا. LPT/USD على StoicFX is a Contract for Difference. You trade LPT's price against the US dollar without holding any tokens. To delegate stake to an orchestrator, earn ETH transcoding fees, or participate in Livepeer network governance you would need actual LPT tokens in a compatible Ethereum or Arbitrum wallet.
