Delegators earn a share of both ETH fees and LPT emissions, making staking a dual-currency yield activity. However, LPT's significant inflation rate means unstaked LPT is diluted over time.
Why did Livepeer migrate to Arbitrum?
Livepeer's coordination layer involves frequent on-chain transactions for job assignment, fee settlement, and staking operations. On Ethereum mainnet, gas costs made many of these transactions economically impractical. By migrating protocol coordination to Arbitrum One, Livepeer reduced transaction costs by orders of magnitude, making the protocol viable for small-value video transcoding payments and enabling more granular fee settlements between developers and orchestrators.
