Trade TRB/USD
Tellor / US Dollar
Tellor is a decentralized oracle protocol that uses proof-of-work mining to submit off-chain data on-chain, with a staking-and-dispute system that incentivizes accurate reporting and allows bad data to be challenged and removed.

About Tellor (TRB/USD)
Tellor takes a different approach to the oracle problem than Chainlink or Band Protocol. Rather than a permissioned network of node operators, Tellor uses proof-of-work miners who compete to submit data values on-chain, an approach that preserves decentralization at the cost of latency. Any submitted value can be disputed by TRB stakers within a challenge window, with incorrect submissions subject to slashing. This dispute mechanism creates economic accountability where oracle manipulation becomes costly. Tellor v3 introduced Autopay, allowing data requesters to fund continuous data feeds, while v3 moved to a more flexible multi-query architecture. TRB staking is required to submit data or participate in governance. TRB/USD on StoicFX is a CFD, no TRB tokens are purchased or held on your behalf.
Key Price Drivers
- Oracle market competition with Chainlink, Pyth, Band, and API3 for data feed integrations
- TRB staked for data submission and dispute resolution reducing circulating supply
- DAO tooling, prediction market, and cross-chain messaging demand for tamper-resistant data
- Oracle manipulation headlines renewing interest in decentralized alternatives

FAQ
How does Tellor’s proof-of-work oracle model work?
Miners competing with proof-of-work submit data values to Tellor’s on-chain contract. The contract accepts a value when a miner reaches the required hash difficulty and embeds it alongside the proof-of-work solution. The submitted value is then available for smart contracts to read after a short delay. Because mining is permissionless, anyone with the required hardware and TRB stake can participate, avoiding the whitelisted node operator model of other oracles.
What is the dispute mechanism and why does it matter?
Any TRB holder can challenge a submitted value by staking TRB and flagging the submission as incorrect within the dispute window. A vote among all TRB stakers determines whether the challenged value was valid. If the challenge succeeds, the submitting miner loses their staked TRB, which goes to the challenger. This slashing mechanism makes malicious oracle submissions economically costly, as the expected loss from a failed manipulation attempt outweighs potential gains in well-functioning markets.
What kinds of data does Tellor provide beyond crypto price feeds?
While price feeds are the most common oracle use case, Tellor’s flexible query architecture supports arbitrary off-chain data. Projects have used Tellor for weather data, sports results, DAO governance snapshots, and cross-chain state proofs. Autopay allows any party to fund a continuous stream of any data type by depositing TRB into a feed contract, making Tellor a general-purpose data layer rather than a crypto-only price oracle.
If I trade TRB/USD on StoicFX, do I hold any TRB tokens?
No. TRB/USD on StoicFX is a Contract for Difference. You trade TRB’s price against the US dollar without owning any tokens. To stake TRB, submit oracle data, or participate in disputes, you would need actual TRB tokens in a compatible wallet.
